INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Oklahoma Christian opened the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships in school record-fashion in the women's 800-yard freestyle relay to garner 14 points for the Eagles on day one.

Tammy Greenwood, Vanessa Weatherford, Jaiden Branstrom and Laura Byars posted a time of 7:22.98, besting the previous school record nearly two whole seconds. The quartet finished fourth in their heat and 10th overall.

Greenwood opened the race with lead-off 1:48.55 to put OC in front after the opening 200 yards. Weatherford followed with a personal-best 1:49.53, encored by a season best from Branstrom at 1:52.55. Byars brought home the school record with a 1:52.35 final 200.

"Super job by all four ladies," head coach Josh Davis said. "Great work ethic and leadership by all four of you! Special congrats to senior captains Jaiden and Laura for an awesome last swim of their career. Go Eagles!"

Greenwood will return to the pool as the first individual to compete for Oklahoma Christian, swimming as the six seed in the 50 free (22.78) Wednesday, Mar. 12. Prelims for all individual events will begin each day at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT.

Top-16 swimmers from the morning session will have an opportunity to swim in the evening session, which will begin each day at 5:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. CT, while the Top-8 from that morning will be swimming in the evening for an individual national title.
