GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Oklahoma Christian University senior Mady Monroe is the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Summit Award winner for women's swimming and diving, the league announced Friday, Feb. 14 during the 2025 RMAC Swimming & Diving Championships.

"Balancing school and swimming is one of the hardest combinations in the world of sports," head coach Josh Davis said. "There are a lot of of smart swimmers out there but for our Mady to have the highest GPA of all the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship competitors is a testament to her hard work and focus."

Monroe, a four-member of the OC program from Canyon, Texas, claims the award after entering the championship with a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average while majoring in interdisciplinary studies. She competed in the 50-yard freestyle, the 100-yard butterfly, and 100-yard freestyle events during the 2025 championships.

"Not only is Mady a great swimmer, but a great student and a great human being," Davis said. "We are so proud of Mady and how she has represented OC and her family."

The RMAC's Summit Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the finals site of their respective sport's championship. Summit Award winners must have competed in 20 percent of available competitions throughout the current season. All GPAs are based on a straight-grading scale
to ensure consistency among nominees. All ties are broken by the total number of credit hours completed through the most recently concluded semester.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be sophomores or above and have participated in their sport at their institution for at least two years. They must also be active members of their teams and travel to and compete at the RMAC championship event.

Monroe and the Oklahoma Christian women's swimming program will return to El Pomar Natatorium on the campus of Colorado Mesa University this evening for day four of the RMAC Championships as the Eagles are currently in fifth place.
