Biography

  • OVERVIEW 

    • Laura is a Biology and Spanish major from Lubbock, TX.  

    • Byars swims freestyle events.  

    • After graduating from OC, she hopes to attend PA school. 

    • Laura’s go-to road trip snacks are jalapeño chips

    • The people most important to her are her family and close friends. 

    • Growing up Byars was inspired by Madisyn Cox and Natalie Hinds.

    • Why OC?

      • “I chose OC because I love the small, private school feel. The close-knit community really appealed to me, and I wanted to go to school somewhere with a competitive degree, and a team-centered swim program.”

  • HIGH SCHOOL 

    • Byars attended and swam at Lubbock High School.

    • She was part of the school's first and second state wins as captain both years.
