Lady Eagles Open LSC Play On the Road With Greyhounds and Lady Buffs

EDMOND, Okla. - The Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles (3-1, 0-0 LSC) will open up their 2024-2025 Lone Star Conference schedule with a road trip to take on the Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico (6-1, 1-0 LSC) on Thursday, December 5th in Portales, NM, before crossing back into the Central timezone to face off with the Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M (6-2, 0-1 LSC) for the December 7th Saturday afternoon matchup.

Lady Eagles Outlook

After dropping the season opener in early November, Coach Brown and the Lady Eagles found a rhythm on the offensive side of the ball and are entering LSC play on a three-game winning streak. OC is going into the gauntlet of conference play, averaging 78.8 points per game, shooting 45% from the field, 38% from the three-point line, and 75% from the charity stripe. On the defensive end, the Lady Eagles, led by junior forward Taylor Jackson, are forcing their opponents to be unsettled, forcing just over 18 turnovers a game, holding their opponents to an average scoring under 60 points, and shooting less than 40% from the field.

Coming off a career night against RSU, Kate Bradley leads the charge on offense, averaging 15 points a contest and shooting 50% from long range. Alongside Bradley, four other Lady Eagles are averaging over 10 points an outing, with Nakia Cullom's strong shooting and Taylor Jackson's ability to clean up on the boards and give the Lady Eagles opportunities on second-chance buckets. Rounding out most of the Lady Eagles' scoring, freshman Ciara Harris and transfer Elikya Baseylia provide energy and production off the bench.

Scouting the Greyhounds

The Greyhounds, in their second season under head coach Blake Huber, are looking to improve on last year's success. Picked to finish 10th in the LSC preseason polls, ENMU is already off to a good start, claiming their first conference win of the season with a dominating win over WT.

Kaitlyn Edmondson is leading the Greyhounds, the only player to average over 10 points per game. However, the Greyhounds have six players, averaging over seven points, allowing ENMU to find offense from the entire roster.

In this seventh matchup between the Lady Eagles and the Greyhounds, the winner will take control of the series record, as the teams sit deadlocked at 3-3. The Lady Eagles claimed last year's victory, in which Jackson, Bradley, Francisco, and Cullom finished with double-figure scoring.

Scouting the Lady Buffs

The Lady Buffs, who were picked to finish fifth in the LSC preseason poll, are in their fourth year under Josh Prock as head coach. Prock, who left Eastern New Mexico to take over the WT program, led the team in his first season to a conference regular-season title and an appearance in the DII Elite Eight. Before dropping their conference opener to the Greyhounds, the Lady Buffs were on a four-game winning streak.

Leading the way for WT, junior guards Kyla Kane, Claire Graham, and Randi Harding are all averaging over 12 points a game. They also contribute to finding teammates to score, combining for 44 assists over their eight games played.

Last year's matchup was a historic 22-point victory for the Lady Eagles. Propelled by incredible team shooting, finishing the game 55% from the field and 62% from behind the three-point line, Coach Brown and the Lady Eagles cruised over the Lady Buffs for their first victory in the series.
