EDMOND, OKLA. - Fueled by a hot shooting night, a dominating night in the paint, and a stellar showing on the defensive end, Oklahoma Christian defeated the St.Edwards Hilltoppers Monday afternoon, 82-70.
The Lady Eagles had four players in double figures on the night as
Sofia Lopez led the way with 16,
Kenzie Willis followed with 15,
Elikya Baseyila recorded 13,
Taylor Jackson added 12 points and
Allyah Leusogi-Ape contributed 10. Monday's outing notched the fourth time this season that OC has had at least four different players in double figures.
The maroon-and-gray shot 51 percent (27-of-52) from the field, notching their third highest percentage as a team this season. Oklahoma Christian led by three at the half, but a strong third quarter where they outscored the Hilltoppers 26-16 ultimately gave them the lead and they never looked back.
The Lady Eagles also forced 17 turnovers on the evening, tallying their 13th game where they have forced 15 or more turnovers for their respective opponents.
Oklahoma Christian (10-14, 6-11 LSC) will return to the Eagles Nest Thursday, Feb. 19 when they take on Cameron for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
