RICHARDSON, Texas (May 13, 2022) – Oklahoma Christian placed a trio of student-athletes on the All-Lone Star Conference honor list for outdoor track and field, which was released on Friday.

Multi-event athlete Chaney Martin, distance runner Colton Meyers and middle-distance runner Dylan Burrows each earned second-team recognition.

The LSC formula for determining all-conference honorees is unique. The first-team list consists of event winners, all members of the winning relay teams and athletes scoring 14 or more points at the LSC Championships. The second team includes athletes on the second-place relay teams and those scoring 8-13.9 points, while the third team recognizes members of third-place relay teams and athletes scoring 6-7.9 points

Martin, a sophomore from West Plains, Mo., placed fourth in the decathlon in the LSC meet, held last week in Kingsville, Texas, with a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying score of 6,708. After completing the 10-event decathlon, Martin competed in the pole vault on the final day and finished fifth with a top mark of 14 feet, 7½ inches (4.46 meters). He earned nine team points to make the All-LSC second-team list for a second straight outdoor season.

Burrows also earned nine team points. The sophomore from Melbourne, Australia, was the runner-up in the 800 meters in 1:55.36 and was part of OC's fifth-place team in the 4x400-meter relay (3:18.08). He was a first-team All-LSC outdoor selection in 2021. He's also a two-time All-LSC second-team honoree indoors.

Meyers, a senior from Allen, Texas, recorded eight team points for OC. He finished third in the 10,000 meters in 32:52.61, and two days later, he rebounded for a seventh-place showing in the 5,000 meters in 15:22.42. Meyers also was named to the LSC's All-Academic list.

While the All-LSC track honor was the first for Meyers, he was a three-time All-Great American Conference honoree when the Eagles competed in that conference, making the first-team indoor list in the 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters in 2019 and the second-team outdoor list in the 10,000 in 2019. He's also a four-time all-conference honoree in cross country – in 2018 in the Heartland Conference and in 2019, 2020 and 2021 in the LSC.
