CANYON, Texas -
Kameron Shropshire took home the LSC title in the hammer throw while the Oklahoma Christian women set four new school records during the 2026 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 7-9.
Day One
Lainy Lewis started out the championships with the heptathlon, setting personal-bests in four of the eight events, finishing as high as fifth in the shot put with a distance of 34-0.25 (10.37m). At the end of the day, Shropshire delivered the first LSC title of the outdoor season with a personal-best, 176-8 (53.85m) podium-topping throw in the hammer.
Day Two
The first two school records of the weekend came from freshmen
Nyla Bentley and
Kenzy McArtor, with Bentley setting the outdoor school record in the 100 meter during the prelims, 11:59 seconds, before taking second in the finals. McArtor broke her own school record in the 400 hurdles prelims, 1:02.93.Â
Day Three
The Eagles' relays quartets set the final two school records of the weekend with
Laniyah Curry,
Hadleigh Harp,
Katie Bosley and
Nyla Bentley running the 4x100 meter relay at 46.12, placing third in the event. To close the championships,
Lakin Gaddy,
Sydney Adee, Bosley and McArtor delivered a new OC time to beat in the 4x400 relay at 3:49.17.Â
Individually,
Brooke Latham (4:40.00), who shaved 10 seconds off her preliminary time, and
Kinley Kite (4:41.07) took fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 1500 finals.
In the end, the Oklahoma Christian women placed eighth and the men placed ninth at the 2026 LSC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
