RICHARDSON, Texas - For the first time in his career, senior Phil Lawrence was named the Lone Star Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Lawrence earned the honor after throwing a distance of 16.20 meters (53-1.75) at the University of Oklahoma's Owen Hewett Invitational last Friday, Jan. 16.

With four meets to go in the 2026 Indoor season before the conference championships, the Eaton, Colo., native now owns the top weight throw in the LSC.

Oklahoma Christian returns to the John Jacobs Track & Field Complex and Mosier Indoor Track Facility in Norman, Okla, this Thursday, Jan. 22 for the JD Martin Invitational.
