Sydney Collins, a standout outside hitter the past two seasons at Odessa (Texas), has signed to continue her college volleyball career at Oklahoma Christian, OC coach
Jason Skoch said Monday.
Collins, from Buda, Texas, played for Hays High School before arriving at Odessa. During the spring 2021 season, the 6-foot-2 Collins played in 14 matches (28 sets), finishing with 35 kills, a .106 attack percentage, 16 digs and 11 blocks.
This past fall, she played in 15 matches (46 sets) and had 152 kills (3.30/set), a .207 attack percentage, 128 digs (2.78/set) and 23 blocks (0.50 per set). Odessa finished with a 15-7 record.
She has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
"Sydney is an outstanding competitor," Skoch said. "She is a 6-foot-2 outside hitter that will help score points. She has a great foundation for back-row abilities that goes along with her heavy arm. She does well on both pins, which will help improve our diversity on offense. As she is transferring to us, we are expecting her experience and maturity will be great assets to our competitive culture we are building."
