LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Oklahoma Christian women's volleyball program received the American Volleyball Coaches Association 2026 Team Academic Award, the AVCA announced Thursday, July 23.

This is the fourth time in the program's six-year history to have received this award, with the three previous occasions coming in 2025, 2022 and 2021.

In order to be eligible for this award, teams must maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. Across all collegiate divisions and high school volleyball teams, 1,432 teams earned the annual academic nod.

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon said. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."

Oklahoma Christian is five weeks away from its season-opener in Topeka, Kan., against Washburn Thursday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. Following the matchup against the Ichabods, the Eagles will play three more matches across two days in the Sunflower State.
