OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 21, 2021) -- A record-setting defensive performance in a historic postseason win for Oklahoma Christian's volleyball program earned
Brylie Berryman recognition Sunday as the Eagle of the Week.
Berryman, a freshman defensive specialist from Amarillo, Texas, anchored OC's outstanding defensive outing as the 12th-seeded Eagles upset No. 5 seed Texas A&M-Commerce 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 18-25, 29-27, 16-14) at The Field House on Tuesday in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Championship tournament.
With 42 digs, Berryman not only set an OC single-match record, she recorded the most digs in a match by any LSC player this season and the ninth-most by any NCAA Division II player this season. OC's 157 digs as a team in the match rank No. 1 on the Division II single-game list for this season.
She also had 10 assists, an ace and even one kill against TAMUC. In a 3-0 loss to fourth-seeded West Texas A&M in the quarterfinals, Berryman led OC with 15 digs, two assists and an ace. She finished the season with 448 digs, an average of 4.67 per set that ranks tied for fifth in the LSC.

Karlyn Kenner, men's basketball: Kenner averaged 14.0 points and shot 41.7 percent (5 of 12) from 3-point range as the Eagles beat Champion Christian (Ark.) 91-63 on Thursday and nearly rallied from a 21-point second-half deficit before falling 74-71 to Northeastern State on Saturday.

Brooklin Bain, women's basketball: Bain recorded a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds in the Lady Eagles' season opener, a 78-74 loss to defending National Christian College Athletic Association Division II champion Champion Christian. Bain made 10 of 15 field-goal attempts and added four assists.
The Eagle of the Week award recognizes the top performer in OC athletics for the previous week. The honor is presented each week at least one OC athletic team is in competition.
