OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 12, 2020) – Oklahoma Christian's women's basketball program achieved another milestone on Saturday with its 800th all-time win.

OC's 60-53 win over Lone Star Conference rival Texas Woman's in the Eagles' Nest gave the Lady Eagles an overall record of 800-525 during the program's 43 seasons of existence, a .604 winning percentage.

According to the NCAA Division II record book, OC is one of 20 current Division II teams to have reached 800 wins. Only two of those are current members of the Lone Star Conference – West Texas A&M and OC. Including the current season, OC has competed at the Division II level for eight seasons, five as a full Division II member. Before that, OC was a member of the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) and the NAIA.

OC first fielded a women's basketball team with the 1977-78 season, when the Lady Eagles posted a 14-11 record under coach Max Dobson. OC's first win came in the program's second game, a 67-62 decision over Cameron.

The following season, Dobson brought in freshman Stephanie Stark, who has been with the program ever since. Now known as Stephanie Findley, she played four seasons for the Lady Eagles, then spent three seasons as Dobson's assistant before becoming the head coach with the 1985-86 season.

She has posted a 627-445 record over 35 seasons, after Dobson went 173-80 over eight seasons.

"It's a good milestone for our program," Findley said. "Obviously, I've liked OC – I've stayed – and they've liked me and have been gracious enough to let me coach that long. You surround yourself with good people and good kids and good things happen. I think that's what we've done here."

OC has recorded its most wins over former Sooner Athletic Conference rival USAO (54), followed by four other former SAC foes – Oklahoma Baptist (44), John Brown (Ark.) (40), Southern Nazarene (35) and Northwestern Oklahoma State (35).
