Lady Eagles break away from NWOSU

OC-NWOSU Highlights

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Dec. 7, 2009) – The Lady Eagles' basketball team ran away from Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Monday night with a 72-48 victory over the Lady Rangers.

The Lady Eagles started out behind after Northwestern Oklahoma put up the first basket of the game. In the first few minutes, the Lady Eagles pushed through three lead changes and a tie before they began to break away.

With only 3:30 left in the first half, the OC women went on a 14-5 run to lead by 18 points at the half.

In the second half, the Lady Eagles increased their lead to as many as 32 points with the entire bench seeing action during the period.

Brittney Kennedy saw her second 14-point game in a row and paced the Lady Eagles into the second half. Kennedy grabbed five rebounds, made three blocks, and made three steals in the game.

Freshman Roz Hamilton continued to impress putting up 10 points for the Lady Eagles to help cushion OC's lead. Kailan DeCamp added another 12 points for the OC women along with making five assists and three steals.

Respectable shooting accuracy was seen from the Lady Eagles as they registered 48 percent from the field and 37 percent from behind the arc.

The Lady Eagles improve their record to 8-2 for the season with a 3-1 record for league play.

The OC women stay at the Eagles' Nest for their upcoming game against Paul Quinn College (Texas) on Friday. The game will tip off at 7 p.m.
