No. 18 Oklahoma Christian University knocked off a top-10 opponent for the second time this season Thursday night with a 63-48 victory over No. 10 Oklahoma City University in the Eagles' Nest.

The victory gave Oklahoma Christian the first win in the newly-christened "Backyard Brawl" with Oklahoma City, presented by Bank of America and The Oklahoman.

Oklahoma Christian never trailed in the game and led by as many as 15 in the second half. The margin of victory was the largest for OC over OCU since the 1996-97 season.

OC was paced by senior Katie Fariss' fifth double-double of the season and the 16th of her career. The senior from Andrews, Texas, scored a game-high 20 points and corralled 14 rebounds.

The Lady Eagles started the game with a 13-2 run in the opening 7:30. Oklahoma Christian held the lead the entire first half with Oklahoma City never drawing closer than six.

OC matched its largest lead of the half at 11 as time expired in the half when senior Mackenzie Walker fired a pass through the OCU defense to Fariss, who converted the basket to make the score 31-20 entering the break.

The Lady Eagles held the Stars to just 29 percent shooting from the field in the first half and forced 13 turnovers while committing 10 turnovers of their own.

OC started the second half slowly, allowing OCU to claw back within six on two occasions at the 14:06 and 12:16 marks. But six points was as close as the Stars would come as they were outscored 20-16 in the game's final 10 minutes.

Two Lady Eagles joined Fariss in double figures with Rachel Martin and Kailan DeCamp each scoring 13. Chelsea Ledbetter led the Stars with 13.

OC (6-1, 13-3) remains in a tie atop the Sooner Athletic Conference with Lubbock Christian University.

The Lady Eagles next take the floor on Saturday (Jan. 27) in Siloam Springs, Ark., in a conference game with John Brown University.
