OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 28, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian University women's basketball team dropped its regular-season finale 68-38 to No. 12 Oklahoma City University in the Eagles' Nest on Saturday night.

The Lady Eagles wrap up the regular season at 6-16 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and 13-17 overall. Oklahoma Christian will be the No. 10 seed in the SAC Tournament and will play a first-round game against No. 7 seed Science and Arts (Okla.) Tuesday in Lubbock, Texas (game time TBA).

Saturday's game was the final contest in the Eagles' Nest for four outstanding Oklahoma Christian seniors: Jordan Findley (Spanish major from Edmond, Okla.), Lindsey Gipson (elementary education major from Pflugerville, Texas), Charlotte Heron (political science major from Southampton, England), and Haley Myers (physical education major from Okarche, Okla.).

The Lady Eagles were led by Brittney Kennedy's 15 points. The double-figure scoring effort was her 12th in OC's last 13 games. She went 6-of-12 from the field to go with five rebounds.

The Stars went on a 16-0 run to start the game before the Lady Eagles finally got on the scoreboard with a Kennedy hoop at the 12:52 mark. OC cut the deficit down to 11 points (18-9) after a Katy Clift three pointer and another Kennedy bucket.

OCU led by as many as 21 points in the half, and it was 35-14 Stars at halftime. The Lady Eagles struggled from the field in the opening stanza, shooting only 29 percent (6-of-21) compared to 48 percent (12-of-25) from the Stars.

OCU went on a 12-5 run to start the second half, and the lead swelled to as large as 33 points in the period. The Stars went on to outscore the Lady Eagles 33-24 in the final period to hand OC its 10th-straight defeat. OC scored 38 points for the third time this season - and the second-straight game - to equal an all-time program low.

Lisa Chenoweth had nine points for the Lady Eagles, while Katy Clift scored eight. Heron led the team with five rebounds.

Chelsea Ledbetter paced OCU with 15 points, and Chontaye Walker added 13 as the Stars improved to 17-5 in the conference and 25-5 on the year.
