
SHAWNEE, Okla. (Feb. 18, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian women's basketball team fell away from Saint Gregory's University (Okla.) in the last minutes of the game losing 56-46 on Thursday night.
The Lady Eagles never trailed during the first half against Saint Gregory's as they pulled away to a 10-point lead with 1:53 left till halftime. The Lady Cavaliers marched back to within four points before the half as they held the Lady Eagles from scoring again.
The Lady Eagles led 24-20 at the end of the first period.
The second half saw a tighter ball game as SGU held in step with the Lady Eagles. Although the OC women led most of the half, the Lady Cavaliers tied it up late in the game before hitting a three-point basket and making use of a foul to take the lead.
In the last minute of the game, the Lady Cavaliers pulled away from the Lady Eagles to a 10-point lead before regulation time ended leaving the OC women with a 56-46 loss.
Brittney Kennedy paced the Lady Eagles through the effort scoring 18 points and grabbing six rebounds.
Kailan DeCamp made use of free throws hitting 11 for 14 and hitting a field goal to score 13 points to add to the Lady Eagles' total.
The Lady Eagles decline to a 17-10 record and to 10-9 for the conference.
The OC women will join the men's team in hosting Oklahoma Baptist University on Saturday in the Eagles' Nest. The women's tip-off will be a 6 p.m. with the men's game following at 8 p.m.
