Lady Eagles hold off USAO

CHICKASHA, Okla. (Jan. 9, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian women's basketball team outplayed the University of Science and Arts to a 65-58 victory in Chickasha, Okla. on Saturday night.

The Lady Eagles took no time setting the pace with Roz Hamilton draining a field goal from three-point range for the first basket of the game. A 7-0 run followed, leaving the Lady Eagles ahead 10-0 just five minutes into the game.

The Lady Eagles played to an 11-point lead at the half with the score at 32-21.

During the second half, the Lady Eagles led by as many as 15 points early into the period. The USAO Lady Drovers came within six points of the Lady Eagles with just 16 seconds remaining in the game, but the OC women held strong and won 65-58 to earn their sixth conference victory.

Kailan DeCamp led the Lady Eagles against USAO scoring 15 points for the night, making three steals and two assists. Post player Brittany Kennedy added 13 points to the score with 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

Freshmen post players Lindsay McCown and Hamilton put up 10 and 11 points, respectively. Hamilton also made six rebounds and two assists on the night.

The victory advances the Lady Eagles to 13-3 overall with a 6-2 conference record.

The OC women will host Oklahoma City University on Thursday night in the Nest at 6 p.m. in a double header with the men's team.
