Falling behind early, Oklahoma Christian fell to 14th ranked John Brown University 66-53 in Siloam Springs, Ark. Feb. 21.
The Lady Eagles made a valiant run in the second half after being down 35-20 at halftime. OC outscored JBU 15-7 over the opening seven minutes of the second half to trail 34-42. A three-pointer by Becky Gray and baskets by Sarah Stanley and Jennifer Haynes closed the gap to four points 42-46 with 8:48 remaining.
OC suddenly went cold from the field and JBU pushed out to lead 59-47 at the two-minute mark. A late basket and three-pointer by Lady Eagle sophomore Lauren Decker could not close the gap.
Decker led OC scorers with 12 points and Haynes finished with 10. The Lady Eagles are now 16-12 overall and 6-8 in league play.
