A second-half turnaround by Oklahoma Christian allowed the Lady Eagles to claim a 67-46 victory over the St. Gregory's Lady Cavaliers here Jan. 13.
Trailing 28-18 at halftime, the Lady Eagles reeled off a 20-3 run to open the second half to overcome SGU. The victory is OC's 13th against four losses and raises the Lady Eagles' conference record to 3-1.
Junior Tasha Turney scored seven points to kick start the comeback and junior Carlissa Plowden's put back gave OC a 32-31 lead five minute into the final period.
Plowden and junior Lauren Decker continued the offensive surge and pushed out to a 54-43 lead with 4:50 remaining. With Katie Fariss, Decker, Jennifer Haynes and Rachel Martin contributing baskets, the Lady Eagles held SGU scoreless the final 3:30 of the game.
Decker led the Lady Eagles with 13 points, followed by Plowden with 11 points and seven rebounds. Fariss led OC with 10 rebounds and Martin finished with nine points and six assists.
