OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Feb. 16, 2008) – Oklahoma Christian upset No. 17 Lubbock Christian University (Texas) 71-68 Saturday afternoon in a pivotal Sooner Athletic Conference game.

Kailan DeCamp's score off the glass with 26.6 seconds to play secured the win for the Lady Eagles (14-11, 10-8).

DeCamp finished with a game-high 22 points. The 22-point effort fell one point shy of the sophomore's career high.

With :56 seconds to play, Sierra Wilcox-Lovorn rattled home a three-pointer for LCU (20-6, 13-5) to narrow OC's lead to just one point at 69-68.

But DeCamp's score at the other end made it 71-68 with :26.6 left. Jennifer Hughes' three-point try with less than a second to play fell short and secured OC's three-point upset win.

"This is huge for us," OC head coach Stephanie Findley said. "It's huge in the rankings obviously, but it's even bigger for our confidence to know we can get over the hump and beat a ranked opponent."

OC and LCU each held small leads in the contest's first six minutes. The Lady Eagles took an 11-9 advantage on Lindsey Gipson's three-pointer at the 14:11 mark.

The score was part of a 14-2 run that was capped on Brittney Kennedy's turnaround score with 9:39 left to give OC a 20-11 lead.

LCU trimmed the deficit to 20-16 with a Jordan Hampton triple at 8:22, but Gipson hit from downtown on the other end to ignite a 12-0 rally.

After a Gipson two-pointer at 7:12, DeCamp's conventional three-point play took the Lady Eagles' lead into double-digits at 28-16.

Four-straight Danielle Cox points swelled the lead to its largest at 32-16 by the 5:41 point.

Hampton scored five consecutive points in the final minute to make the score 42-37. But DeCamp penetrated and scored off the glass as time expired to up OC's halftime lead to 44-37.

Gipson scored 14 first-half points on 6-of-6 free-throw shooting.

The Lady Chaps came out firing in the second half and put together a 13-2 run to take their first lead since the 14:43 mark of the first half. Bailey St. Clair hit a baseline jumper to give LCU a 48-46 edge with 15:55 to play.

With LCU up 50-46, the Lady Eagles got the hot-shooting hand and rattled off a 16-2 charge to grab a 62-52 edge at the 6:32 mark.

DeCamp capped the run with six-straight fast-break points. Charlotte Heron scored four points in the rally, while Kennedy and Cressi Bryant added three points apiece.

The Lady Chaps would not go down without a fight though. LCU scored nine unanswered points from 4:50 to 2:16 to get within 67-65. Hampton's fifth three-pointer of the game sliced OC's lead to just two points.

The Lady Eagles perfectly converted an out-of-bounds play that gave Kennedy a driving two points with 1:15 to play. The bucket put OC up 69-65 and set up the final sequence.

Gipson scored 17 points, including a 3-of-4 effort from downtown. Heron scored eight points and snagged a game-best eight rebounds. She also blocked six LCU shot attempts.

Hampton tied DeCamp for the game high with 22 points on 5-of-6 three-point shooting.
