OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (March 5, 2008) – Oklahoma Christian beat St. Gregory's (Okla.) 76-52 Wednesday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament presented by Orthopedic Solutions.

The No. 5-seeded Lady Eagles will play No. 4 Lubbock Christian (Texas) Friday night at 6 p.m. at the Eagles' Nest.

OC beat LCU (ranked No. 17 nationally) 71-68 on Feb. 16.

"We'll have to contain LCU's scorers and rebounders in the next round," OC head coach Stephanie Findley said. "They can beat you in a lot of ways."

Six Lady Eagles scored in a game-opening 16-0 run that put the game in hand almost before it even started on Wednesday.

Haley Myers got it going with a three-pointer 26 seconds in. Then Hillary Duncan sealed it with a triple at 14:38 to make it a 16-0 Lady Eagle edge.

"We came out and shot well and played excellent defense which was key," Findley said. "We stressed having intensity, while staying focused and smart out there."

All-SAC first-teamer Kailan DeCamp made it a 22-4 rally with a long ball at 13:00.

SGU fought back with a 10-2 run that made it a 10-point game. Abby Wolf made 1-of-2 free throws at 8:31 to narrow OC's lead to 24-14.

But a 10-1 Lady Eagle rally put it back in OC's hands.

DeCamp scored an acrobatic two off the glass at 5:30 to give OC a 32-14 leash. Then Devin Sewell dropped a score to make it a 34-15 advantage.

OC went on to a 36-21 lead at intermission.

Gipson stroked a three-ball at 19:25 of the second half to take the Lady Eagles' edge up to 39-21.

The lead moved to the 20-point mark when Charlotte Heron hit two free throws at 17:42 to make it 43-23.

Danielle Cox scored a twisting conventional three-pointer at 11:52 to build OC's lead even further. The Nicoma Park, Okla., native's score gave the Lady Eagles a demanding 54-31 edge.

OC led by as many as 29 points en route to the 24-point win.

A balanced scoring effort was paced by Myers' 11 points. Sewell and Cox each had 10 points. Gipson chipped in nine points while Duncan and DeCamp added eight points.
