OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 7, 2009) - Oklahoma Christian University fell 68-67 to John Brown University (Ark.) inside the Eagles' Nest on Saturday night. Kailan DeCamp had 17 points and six assists in the loss, while Brittney Kennedy posted 16 points.

The Lady Eagles were up 45-30 at intermission after shooting 55 percent from the field in the first half. But John Brown won the second half 38-22 to pick up its second win over OC this season.

With 23 seconds left the score was tied at 67-67 when JBU's Ashley Taylor got two free throws. The sophomore made only one, giving the Lady Eagles a chance to go on top on the offensive end.

After the ball was tipped out of bounds by the Golden Eagles, the Lady Eagles had an inbounds play with five seconds showing to try and win it. But Devin Sewell's three-point attempt came up short and JBU snuck away with the comeback victory.

The defeat drops OC to 13-11 overall and 6-10 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

Katy Clift had 11 points on 3-of-5 three-point shooting in the loss. Haley Myers added eight points, and Lisa Chenoweth had seven.

In the men's game, the No. 17 Eagles dropped a high-scoring 90-81 affair to JBU.

Both teams were white-hot from the field, as OC shot 48 percent (31-of-65), and JBU was 50 percent (31-of-62) for the game. But the Golden Eagles capitalized on a 44-30 rebounding advantage to score their second win over the Eagles this season.

The setback – OC's fourth straight – drops the Eagles to 16-8 and 9-7 in the SAC. The win gave JBU (16-8, 10-6) a one-game edge over OC for fourth place in the SAC standings.

Jason Taylor was OC's leading scorer with 28 points on 11-of-16 shooting. The 6-7 forward – who led the SAC in scoring at 22.5 points per game coming in – stepped back to hit 4-of-4 three-point tries to go with seven rebounds.

David Jackson had 12 points for the Eagles, while point guard Jeff Crocker went for 10 points and eight assists. Chad Endres came off the bench for nine points, while Jon Jonsson had eight points and grabbed five boards.

Despite 18 first-half points from Taylor, OC trailed 45-37 at halftime. JBU made 16-of-32 field goals in the half for 50-percent shooting. The Golden Eagles led by as many as 15 points in the stanza, but the Eagles went on a 9-4 run the last 4:28 to get it back into single digits.

JBU's hot shooting stretched into the second half, where used a 24-6 run to take their biggest lead at 69-43 by the 11:57 mark.

The Eagles gradually chipped away at the deficit, and after an 11-4 run beginning at the 5:23 mark, the score was 82-72 JBU. Jackson capped the rally with a fastbreak pullup jumper with 1:38 to play to make it a 10-point contest.

OC got even closer when Izea Lovejoy got a putback (32 seconds), and Kyle Tefft hit a three (27 seconds) to make it 86-81. But JBU hit two free throws on the other end to ice it.

OC looks to break back into the win column when they host Lubbock Christian (Texas) at 6 p.m. on Feb. 12. The Eagles beat the Chaparrals 66-60 in Lubbock on Jan. 24.
