Katie Fariss scored 24 points as the 12th-ranked Lady Eagles cruised at Wayland Baptist 85-64 Thursday night.
OC's starting five all finished with double figures as Oklahoma Christian improved to 18-6 overall and 11-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Wayland (6-18, 1-12) traded leads with Oklahoma Christian twice in the first four minutes, leading 8-6 on a three-pointer by Anastasia Okolo at the 17:15 mark.
However, Oklahoma Christian shot 6-of-7 from behind the three-point line in the first half to pull ahead and stay on top the rest of the way, thanks to the 5-of-6 long-ball performance in the first 20 minutes (6-of-9 in the game) by Fariss.
Lauren Decker (17), Tasha Turney (13), Carlissa Plowden (12) and Rachel Martin (11) rounded-out the double-digit scorers for Oklahoma Christian.
In the men's game, Wayland Baptist fell behind by 11 points in the second half to the No. 19 Eagles (17-7, 7-6 SAC). But by holding the visiting Eagles scoreless for nearly five minutes in the last part of the second half, the Pioneers rallied for a Sooner Athletic Conference victory, 67-58.
In a game that saw 12 lead changes and six ties, No. 15 Wayland (16-6, 10-3 SAC) took a 28-21 lead into the locker room at halftime, only to give up a 25-5 run in the first nine minutes of the second half to trail, 46-35.
The Pioneers closed the gap to 54-49 at the 5:05 mark then held the Eagles scoreless for the next 4:43 (a 14-0 run) to retake the lead and hang on the rest of the way to end a back-and-forth battle.
Offensively, the Pioneers´ leading scorer this season, Kendall Webb (averaging 18.9 points per game) only had 11 points, but had seven in the final minute to give Wayland a bigger cushion as OC tried to come back. The Eagles were led by Dillon Ripley´s game-high 19 points. Brady Page and Micah Miles each added 12.
For Wayland, Nate Bridges had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds and Clifton Clarida had a team-high 16 points.
The Lady Eagles and Eagles play at LCU on Saturday afternoon. The women's game tips off at 1 p.m. and the men's game starts at 3 p.m.
