A 21-2 first-half run propelled the 10th-ranked Lady Eagles to an easy 79-50 win over John Brown Saturday at the Eagles' Nest.

Rachel Martin led Oklahoma Christian with 17 points and eight rebounds. Carlissa Plowden (13 points), Lauren Decker (11), Katie Fariss (10) and Mackenzie Walker (10) also scored in double figures for the Lady Eagles.

The visiting Golden Eagles led 19-18 when Decker converted a conventional three-point play to give OC the lead for good. A basket by LaToshia Ware and a three-pointer by Fariss pushed the lead to 26-19. After two free throws by JBU's Kendra McCormick, the Lady Eagles reeled off 13 more points to go up 39-21.

OC held a 45-25 advantage at halftime and led by as many as 37 points in the second half. The Lady Eagles improved to 10-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and 17-6 overall. They have a two-game lead for second place in the conference behind undefeated Oklahoma City.

The men's game featured another down-to-the-wire finish for OC's men, who also improved to 17-6 overall (7-5 in the SAC).

The 20th-ranked Eagles led for most of the game, taking a 29-18 first-half lead on the strength of a 14-2 run. JBU closed within 35-29 at halftime and fought back to tie the game at 51 when Cody Page hit a three-pointer with 6:40 remaining.

The game seesawed over the next three minutes, with Oklahoma Christian taking the lead for good when Charles Baldwin's trey made it 58-57.

A Brady Page basket and two free throws by Keith Harris gave OC a 62-57 edge, but the Golden Eagles scored four straight points to pull within one with 40 seconds left.

The Eagles clinched the game at the free-throw line. Dillon Ripley and Keith Harris both went 2-for-2 from the line in the closing seconds to hold off John Brown's comeback bid.

JBU's Brandon Cole scored a game-high 22 points, including six three-pointers, to supplant OC's Jarred Merrill as the SAC's all-time leading scorer. Cole now has 2,202 career points.

Harris led the Eagles with 15 points. Brady Page scored 13 and John Nottley chipped in 10 points off the bench. Micah Miles grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Eagles and Lady Eagles head to Texas this week for two road games. OC plays at Wayland Baptist Thursday night and at Lubbock Christian Saturday afternoon. The next home game is Thursday, Feb. 16 against St. Gregory's.
