ALVA, Okla. (Nov. 23, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian women's basketball team never trailed in their 76-51 victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Monday night.
The Lady Eagles had an impressive first half with Lisa Chenoweth hitting a three-point basket to get the ball rolling for Oklahoma Christian. The OC women shot 42.3% from the field Chenoweth putting down 10 of the Lady Eagles' 37 points in the first half.
The Lady Eagles kept a hard-pressed defense holding Northwestern Oklahoma to only 17 in the first period and leading by as many as 22 points.
OC maintain and increased their lead in the second half by up to 32 points. Freshman Lindsay McCown dominated the paint scoring 20 points and grabbing seven rebounds during the game. Chenoweth put up an additional seven points in the second half to total 17 for the game and helped the Lady Eagles maintain possession with five steals for the night.
Brittney Kennedy helped the Lady Eagles with 10 points during the game along with four rebounds and two steals. Kailain DeCamp kept OC's offense rolling providing six assists and eight points. DeCamp assisted defensively as well with four steals and rebounds apiece.
The Lady Eagles held a commanding lead through the entire second half and held the Lady Rangers to 26% from the field. The OC women finished the game with a 25-point margin and now own a 6-1 season record.
The Lady Eagles return home to host Wayland Baptist University in a women's and men's doubleheader on Dec. 3. The women will start at 6 p.m. followed by the men at 8 p.m.
