Lady Eagles snatch win over Saint Gregory's

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Feb. 15, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian women's basketball team escaped with a 61-43 win over Saint Gregory's University (Okla.) on Monday night in the Eagles' Nest.

After Saint Gregory's Leticia Silva nailed a trey to start off the game, the OC women responded with a vengeance as they headed on a 19-0 run to take a 16-point lead over the Lady Cavaliers. The SGU women reacted with a 14-2 run to cut the Lady Eagles' lead down to four with just 5:24 left in the half.

The Lady Eagles then proceeded with a 10-4 run to finish out the half ahead by 10 points at 31-21.

In the second half, once a minute and a half had passed, the Lady Eagles led again by 10 and never allowed the Lady Cavaliers to break that margin to the game's end.

The Lady Eagles held a consistent lead over the SGU women during the period and led the most at 18 points by the game's end.

Brittney Kennedy pulled the Lady Eagles along as she scored 14 points during the game and made four assists.

Krista Stevens hit three treys for the night to score nine points for the Lady Eagles while Kailan DeCamp scored another nine points in addition to making six assists and four steals.

Lindsay McCown helped control the board grabbing nine rebounds during the game and scored eight points in the process. McCown also made four assists and snatched two steals.

The Lady Eagles advance to a 17-9 season record and are now 10-8 in the conference.

The Lady Eagles will head to Shawnee, Okla. to rematch the Lady Cavaliers on Thursday night at 6 p.m. The men's game will follow at 8 p.m.
