OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Feb. 4, 2010) – The No. 17 Lady Eagles dominated the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Lady Drovers in the Nest on Thursday night notching a 76-53 victory.
Lisa Chenoweth led the Lady Eagles through the first half hitting four for four, all from three-point range while post player Lindsay McCown also shot with 100 percent accuracy for eight points during the period.
The Lady Eagles exchanged scores in the first few minutes before taking the lead five minutes into game and never surrendered it. With 2:44 left in the half, USAO's Krista Beaty hit two free throws to put them within three points of the OC women. The Lady Eagles then proceeded to finish out the half with a 12-2 run to lead the Lady Drovers by 13 going into halftime.
During the second half, the Lady Eagles did not allow the Lady Drovers within 10 points and led by as many as 30 points during the half.
With just under 8:00 remaining in the game, Coach Findley started subbing in all the reserves to finish out the game. The Lady Eagles held the large margin of victory taking away a 76-53 win.
Chenoweth finished with 17 points and four assists to sit atop the Lady Eagles' scoring. McCown held her 100 percent accuracy to finish out with 14 points.
Krista Stevens hit nine points for the OC women in addition to making three steals while post player Katy O'Steen put up another eight points. Roz Hamilton added another seven points to the total.
The win advances the No. 17 Lady Eagles to 16-6 with a 9-5 conference record.
The OC women head across town to take on Southern Nazarene University on Saturday at 6 p.m. The men's game will follow at 8 p.m.
