Bentley Earns First LSC Track Athlete of the Week Honor

RICHARDSON, Texas - Following her record-breaking showing at the Crimson and Cream Qualifier, true freshman Nyla Bentley has been named the season's final Lone Star Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Bentley, after breaking the 60 meter dash school record earlier this year, broke her own record with a 7.51 second run in Norman, Okla, Friday, Feb. 20, with the NCAA DII provisional time serving as the top mark in the LSC and 22nd in the nation.

The Frisco, Texas, native nabbed bronze in the event, finishing behind only a pair of Division I athletes.

Oklahoma Christian will now head to Albuquerque, N.M., for the 2026 Lone Star Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Feb. 27-28.
