SHAWNEE, Okla. - After setting school records during the indoor season,
Laniyah Curry and
Katie Bosley picked up where they left off, setting two new program marks at the OBU All-Comers Meet Mar. 27-28.
Women
Laila Ahmed started out Saturday's field events with a third-place jump of 5-4.25 (1.63m)Â in the high jump before Curry took the spotlight four events later. The Edmond, Okla., native out-jumped the second-place competitor by a whole foot for a new outdoor school record long jump of 20-6.00 (6.25m).
Moving to the track,
Kenzy McArtor placed third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.03, setting the stage for Bosley to make OC history. The junior smashed the 400 meter dash record set back in 1998 with a new time of 55.83, taking first in the event. McArtor placed second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:03.69.
Hadleigh Harp (12.11) and Curry (12.19) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, while
Brooke Latham (2:14.99) took fourth in the 800 meter run.
Kinley Kite finished off the OC winners with a first-place run in the 5000 meter race, crossing the finish line at 17:44.41.
Men
Kameron Shropshire started out the men with a sixth-place mark of 138-11.00 (42.34m) in the discuss throw before getting fifth in the hammer (161-11.00).
Blake Morrison claimed his own fifth-place finish in the 5k (15:12.22).
