WICHITA, Kan. - Following the weekend's Friends Spring Open, two 25-plus year school records have fallen on the women's side this outdoor season after true freshman
Kenzy McArtor was the latest to enter record books for the Oklahoma Christian women's track and field program.
Women
Laila Ahmed got the top performances started with a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 5-5.75 (1.67m).
Jalyn Ball finished just behind her with a fourth-place jump of 5-2.5 (1.59m).
Lakin Gaddy saw her best finish of the season in the 400 meter run, placing fifth with a time of 57.83, before McArtor highlighted the day in the hurdles counterpart of Gaddy's race. McArtor took second in the 400 hurdles, setting a 25-year school record with a new benchmark of 1:03.09. Sydnee Adee took fifth in the same event with a finishing time of 1:07.54.
Men
Blake Morrison saw the best finish among the Eagle men, placing fourth in the 3000 meter Steeple with a time of 10:05.10.
Dauntae Herrera later took eighth in the 800 meter race with a time of 1:58.09 before OC saw a trio of top-5 finishers in the 10000 meter run.
Cole Davenport (31:42.93, 2nd),
Tegen Arega (31:53.04, 4th) and
Cole Powell (31:55.43, 5th) finished the day three of the top five spots.
