Track and Field Teams, Individuals Named USTFCCCA All-Academic

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Oklahoma Christian men's and women's track and field teams continued their run of NCAA Division II U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors with the men earning their 11th recognition, including their fifth in a row, and the women's 12th in a row, the USTFCCCA announced.

In addition to both programs getting the academic nod, Laila Ahmed, Laniyah Curry, Kristen Kirk, Lauren Kirk and Kinley Kite were named 2026 NCAA DII Women's Track & Field All-Academic Athletes. This is the second year in a row Ahmed, Curry, K. Kirk and Kite have landed on the list.

The men's program has landed on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team list in all but one year since making the move to Division II while the women have appeared on all 12 editions of the award in which they have been eligible. This is the second year in a row head coach Wade Miller has put five women on the All-Academic Athlete list.

"We try to be conscious of the academic demands of our student-athletes and try our best to plan our practices and competition schedule to minimize missed class time," Miller said. "So many members of our program have a strong work ethic and an understanding of preparing for the future and I believe that contributes to academic success."

Nomination criteria for teams is the combined cumulative grade-point average for all student-athletes on the NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

For individuals, they must have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.25 through the end of the semester of competition and must have been academically eligible at the National Championships in the respective season that his or her athletic mark was achieved in. Athletically, the individual must have achieved one of the following:

- Must have finished the season among the top 50 individuals listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS.
- In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who participated at the Indoor OR Outdoor National Championships, are eligible.
- Must have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the descending order list on TFRRS.
- In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay teams, but who participated in the relay at the Indoor OR Outdoor National Championships, are eligible.
- Finally, any competing relay team members on an expanded descended order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per institution) is eligible.
