RICHARDSON, Texas - For the second time in her career,
Kadence Brewster was named the Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, Feb. 24.
Brewster earned the conference weekly award after going 10-for-23 at the plate while slugging .870 with three doubles, two triples and a home run. Her lone homer came in the top of the eighth against then-No. 13 Rogers State in what would wind up being the game-winning run in what was OC's first of two NFCA top-15 wins for the week.
Against then-No. 5 West Texas A&M, the senior utility player went 3-for-5 at the dish with a double while recording two runs scored an an RBI. Across the six games, Brewster tallied nine RBI as she currently sits tied for the team lead with 15 RBI.
Through 16 games, Brewster is leading the team with a .404 batting average and is sporting an eight-game hitting streak. The Wichita, Kan., native paces OC with 23 hits, 17 runs scored and eight doubles as part of her 41 total bases with
Kallie Rupp following behind her in second with 29.
Brewster and Oklahoma Christian return home now for a four-game home stand against Lubbock Christian and Midwestern State Friday, Feb. 27 and Sunday, Mar. 1.Â
