EDMOND - Oklahoma Christian junior forward Caid Jefferson has been named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Jefferson scored the game-winning goal against Texas A&M International and opened the scoring against UT Permian Basin, helping the Eagles extend their unbeaten streak to five matches.
On Oct. 14, Jefferson scored the only goal of the match, unassisted, in the 86th minute in a 1-0 road win over TAMIU. Three days later, she got the Eagles on the board in the 29th minute against UTPB and assisted on the third and final goal in a 3-0 victory at home.
Jefferson leads Oklahoma Christian with eight goals this season and is tied with Jenna Munson for the team lead with 19 points. She also has three assists and three game-winning goals. Thirty-one of her 44 shots have been on goal (.705), and she ranks in the top five in the conference in both goals and points.
Oklahoma Christian improved to 10-4-1 overall and 7-3-1 in Lone Star Conference play with the two wins. Since a 2-1 loss at Midwestern State on Sept. 30, the Eagles are 4-0-1.
A native of Yukon, Okla., Jefferson is a nursing major.
