WICHITA, Kan. - A handful of top-4 finishes highlighted Oklahoma Christian's 2026 kickoff meet with the First Chance Qualifier hosted by Friends University Saturday, Jan. 10.
Women
Two-sport athlete
Kenzy McArtor saw her best finish of her young career, placing third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.61 seconds to deliver the best finish on the women's side for the meet.
Earlier in the day, a slew of freshmen cracked the top-8 at the calendar's first event, with
Hadleigh Harp starting things off with a seventh-place finish in the 60 meter dash, finishing in 7.91 seconds. Fellow first-yearsÂ
Lakin Gaddy (1:01.96) and
Lillian Giddens (1:03.85) placed sixth and ninth, respectively, in the 400 meter dash.
Men
In the track events,
Noah Fitzgerald and
Nathyn McCrea started things off with a third and fourth place finish, respectively, in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:00.31 and 2:05.49.
Carter Hoelzle later tasted third place with a 2:46.49 run in the 1000 meter.
Moving over to the field,
Kameron Shropshire, serving as OC's only thrower of the event, posted a distance of 51-0.6 in the weight throw to place fourth.
