FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Oklahoma Christian track and field competed in its final regular season meet of the year at the University of Arkansas, participating in the John McDonnell Invitational.
Women
The Eagle women recorded two top-10 finishes with
Laila Ahmed matching her personal best in the high jump with a jump of 1.70m. This jump placed Ahmed fifth overall only on count back, having recorded the same height jump as third place.
In the long jump,
Laniyah Curry recorded a seventh-place finish with a jump of 5.75m. She will go into the beginning of the conference season ranked seventh in the country.
Men
In the men's events,
Ty Morrison and Phillip Lawrence recorded top-10 results in both the discus and the shot put. Morrison finished eighth in the discuss with a throw of 38.01m and Lawrence was right behind in ninth with a throw off 37.99m. In the shot put, Lawrence finished in 10th place with a throw of 13.40m with Morrison behind in 11th with a throw of 12.73m.
In the javelin, Ryan Chacon finished in ninth place with a throw of 44.00m. In the triple jump,
Alex Samples recorded a seventh place finish with a jump of 14.21m while the men's 4x100 relay team recorded a ninth-place finish with a time of 41.81.
