EDMOND, Okla. - In the final week of No. 20 Oklahoma Christian's home portion of the 2025 regular season, the Eagles will host St. Mary's at Tom Heath Field Wednesday, Apr. 16 for a doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m.
EAGLE OUTLOOK (31-15, 24-12 LSC)
No. 20 Oklahoma Christian swept the season series against Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville with a pair of doubleheader sweeps this past weekend. The Eagles are sporting a four-game win streak heading into tomorrow's contest thanks to three straight one-run victories.
Marti Yaerger (6),
Maci George (7) and Sydney Seat (6) are each sporting hitting streaks of six games or longer. In addition to her current team-high hit streak, George is also boasting an eight-game on-base streak. The redshirt-freshman North Texas transfer is fourth on the team with a .328 hitting percentage and third among players with at least 20 appearances with a .412 on-base percentage.
With the help of the aforementioned trio and
Kadence Brewster, who logged a pair of hits in each of OC's last two games and has recorded an extra-base hit in three of the last four outings, Oklahoma Christian has hit .333 or better as team in five consecutive games. The Eagles are now third in the Lone Star Conference with a .312 batting average.
Oklahoma Christian welcomes St. Mary's to Lawson Softball Complex Wednesday, Apr. 16 after posting its first doubleheader sweep on the road against the Rattlers since 2018 earlier this season. The Eagles are 7-3 against StMU in the last 10 meetings and have won six straight at home in the all-time series.
SCOUTING ST. MARY'S (23-24, 18-18 LSC)
St. Mary's meets Oklahoma Christian off an impressive doubleheader split against then-No. 3 UT Tyler on the road. In the top-5 victory, StMU scored five runs against the potent pitching staff of the Patriots, marking the most runs a team has scored against UTT since Feb. 28 of this year. The Rattlers are currently in eighth in the LSC standings and are two-games clear of ninth-place Cameron.
St. Mary's is ninth in the conference in both team hitting percentage (.295) and team ERA (4.04). Leading the team at the plate are junior outfielder Abigail Dela Rosa (.372) and graduate student outfielder Lauren Gonzales (.360), who each have 54 hits on the season, which is tied for 13th among the league's leaders.
