Historic Season Ends in Super Regional Final

CANYON, Texas - 43 wins later - the most by an Oklahoma Christian softball team in the NCAA Division II era - and the No. 22 Eagles' run ended Saturday, May 23 in the South Central Super Regional Final, 3-0.

Seniors Jill Dickson, Kadence Brewster, Kiley Brewster and Madi Drummond led OC to its second South Central Region-1 Championship in three years and its first-ever South Central Super Regional victory.

Starting pitchers Ella Resendiz and Brooke Janning delivered a pitching duel that stymied both high-powered offenses through six innings with the tally reading 0-0 heading into both teams' final at-bat.

The Lady Buffs got a hold of two more than the maroon-and-gray did in Saturday's final, proving to be the difference as a pair of seventh-inning home runs delivered the final blow from Schaeffer Park, 3-0.

Resendiz (15-1) held the nation's top offense to just two hits a six scoreless innings with three strikeouts and one walk prior to the final frame. Sydnee Seat led OC's offense with a pair of hits, followed by Danae Lopez and Kallie Rupp with single base-knocks. Senior Drummond reached base safely once with a walk.
