EDMOND, Okla. - The Oklahoma Christian track and field team competed at two different locations over the course of the Friday, Apr. 11 and Saturday, Apr. 12. The Eagles competed at the KT Woodman classic at Wichita State University and the Arkansas Spring Invitational at the University of Arkansas.
Wichita State
The long distance crew traveled to Wichita, Kan., for the KT Woodman classic. The standout performances came in the 10km with
Caroline Karr coming in fourth place in the woman's event with a time of 38:25.40.Â
In the mens 10km,
Cole Davenport was the top finisher for the Eagles placing 13th in the 54 man field with a time of 31:53.29.
Cole Powell was just behind in 15th place with a time of 32:00.70.
In the men's 3000m steeple chase,
Cade Berkey was the top finisher for the Eagles coming in 15th place with a time of 9:42.90.
In the men's Javelin, Ryan Chacon also traveled with the distance crew and put forth a great showing, placing third with a throw of 49.58m.
Arkansas
The rest of the team traveled to Fayetteville, Ark., where once again it was the jumpers who led the Eagles with strong showings.
Laniyah Curry recorded another decisive victory in the long jump, her third of the outdoor season from as many meets with a jump of 6.21m, besting her own school record.Â
In the woman's high jump,
Laila Ahmed produced another top-10 finish, placing ninth with a jump of 1.65m.
In the women's open 1500m,
Kristen Kirk finished in sixth place with a time of 4:43.67.
For the men,
Jack Sydnes produced the best performance of the day, finishing fifth in the open 1500m with a time of 4:00.21.
Noah Fitzgerald finished in ninth place with a time of 4:09.76. Sydnes also competed in the 3000m where he placed fourth with a time of 9:21.26.Â
The 4x100m mens team placed 10th with a time of 42.98 seconds.
