No. 19 Softball Closes Weekend with Sul Ross Twin Bill

EDMOND, Okla. - Following a doubleheader sweep of Texas Permian Basin in which Oklahoma Christian did not allow a single run, the No. 19 Eagles will now host first-year conference member Sul Ross St. Sunday, Mar. 9. First pitch of the twin bill is set for 12 p.m.

EAGLE OUTLOOK (15-7, 8-6 LSC)
Oklahoma Christian pitchers Grace Anderson (8-2) and Jill Dickson (7-4) combined for 17 strikeouts in 11 innings of work to shut out Texas Permian Basin, 12-0 and 4-0. The Eagles have allowed just one run in their last four wins, with Friday being the maroon-and-gray's third and fourth shutout victories of the season.

Friday's game-one, 12-0 win matches OC's largest margin of victory since defeating the same Falcons team back on Mar. 21, 2023, 23-0. One benchmark performance led to another as Dickson recorded the fourth ho-hitter of her career while also tying her season-high with 12 strikeouts in OC's 4-0 game-two win.

Oklahoma Christian boasts a team-batting average of .334 for third in the Lone Star Conference. Freshman Victoria Brazil has added a boost to this OC offense since being introduced into the starting lineup, hitting .387 (12-for-31) in her 12 starts. The Eagles are 9-3 this season with Brazil in the starting lineup and 7-0 when she gets a hit in that starting role.

Sunday will be OC's first-ever meeting with Sul Ross State. The Eagles are 8-2 at home this season and have allowed more than five runs just once inside Lawson Softball Complex this season while Sul Ross is 0-6 in true road games in 2025.

SCOUTING SUL ROSS STATE (5-18, 2-12 LSC)
The Lobos are in their first year as full-time members of the LSC as the former NCAA Division III institution is 2-12 in conference play with wins over Texas Woman's, 4-3, St. Edward's, 2-1. Both of those wins have come at home as SRSU has not won a conference game on the road this season.

Sul Ross leans on sophomore outfielder Vivian Jimenez, who is the sole player on the Lobos' team to be hitting better than .300 with a .340 average. The LSC's newest member has struggled from within the circle, holding a 7.60 team-ERA with only 33 combined strikeouts.
