GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - After five days of the competing at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships,
Tammy Greenwood (115 points) for the Oklahoma Christian's women's swimming team and
Jarod Arroyo (68.50) of OC men's swimming were the second and third highest point-earners, respectively, of the female and male competitors.
The Eagle women finished fifth out of nine teams with 804.50 total points while the Eagle men (539.50 points) placed fourth out of six teams.
Greenwood posted her fourth individual school record of the Championships in the second-to-last individual event of the week with the 200-yard backstroke. With what is currently third third-fastest time in NCAA Division II, the Colorado Springs, Colo., native finished second in the 200 back with a time of 1:57.49.
Greenwood carried another bronze medal and her fifth overall school record to the OC side in the 400 free relay as her and
Laura Byars,
Jaiden Branstrom and
Vanessa Weatherford placed third, posting a new school time-to-beat of 3:26.72. The quartet garnered 36 points as Greenwood scored her 115th championship point.
Arroyo and
Eli Rollen both finished the Championships with conference titles. In his first year with the Eagles from NCAA Division I Arizona State, Arroyo used a tied-for-first place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:01.57 while Rollen won the 200 back by over a second with a time of 1:45.63.
The individual conference championship is Rollen's first of his college career, who was half-a-point behind Arroyo in the highest scorers for the men at the five-day Championships.
Greenwood, Arroyo, Rollen and company will now await the qualifiers list for the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships hosted in Indianapolis, Ind. Mar. 11-15.
