Eagles Face Texas Woman's, DBU in Final Road Trip

EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian makes its final Lone Star State trip of the regular season when it heads to Denton, Texas, to take on Texas Woman's Thursday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. and then DBU Friday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.

EAGLE OUTLOOK (16-8, 8-5 LSC)
Oklahoma Christian enters the final two weekends of the regular season after having its six-match win streak snapped against St. Mary's last Saturday, 3-1. Over the course of the win streak, OC won a program-record 14 consecutive sets. The consecutive victories took the Eagles from 2-4 in conference play to 8-5 and a spot at eighth in the current LSC standings.

Prior to the Texas Woman's match, the maroon-and-gray are half a game ahead of ninth-place Midwestern State while only being one game removed from the aforementioned fourth-place Pioneers. Of its four matches remaining, the Eagles face two teams ahead of them in the standings (TWU, No. 15 West Texas A&M) and two behind them (DBU, Eastern New Mexico).

Oklahoma Christian brings the league's third-ranked team hitting percentage (.229) into the final four matches of the 2025 regular season, aided by its .272 hitting percentage during the six-match win streak. In their eight LSC wins, the Eagles have hit north of .200 in all but one match, while having hit worse than .200 in all five of their such losses.

Come Thursday, OC will be looking for its first win over Texas Woman's since 2021 as the Pioneers have won four straight over the Eagles. Last year inside the Payne Athletic Center, the maroon-and-gray dropped the first two sets before fighting back to force a fifth set, which TWU took, 15-10.

Oklahoma Christian has never beaten DBU, with Friday being the fifth all-time meeting in the series. Last year in Dallas, the Patriots swept OC behind a .451 attacking percentage from the home team. The Eagles are 4-3 in road conference matches this season while DBU is 3-3 at home in such contests.

SCOUTING TEXAS WOMAN'S (16-8, 9-4 LSC)
After starting out the conference season 2-2, Texas Woman's has since won seven of its last nine LSC matches for its 9-4 record, which has the Pioneers tied for fourth in the league standings. Heading into Thursday, TWU is on the brink of its third consecutive season with double-digit conference wins while having posted 19 overall wins in each of the past two campaigns.

Texas Woman's enters its final home weekend with the second-best opponent hitting percentage in the league at .138, which is tied for 22nd in NCAA Division II. Additionally, the Pioneers' defense leads the LSC with 2.64 blocks per set. Sophomore middle Jonaida Donowa spearheads the defensive effort with a league second-best 1.2 blocks per set.

SCOUTING DBU (11-10, 5-8 LSC)
DBU comes into the weekend on a six-match skid and in an unfamiliar position as it is 11th in the LSC standings and three games out of eighth. With four matches remaining, the Patriots have never missed the LSC Tournament.

The Patriots are fueled by junior outside Karly Wells, who leads the conference and is eighth in DII with 380 kill and is averaging 4.75 kills per set, which is fifth in the nation. Behind Wells and her 1029 total attacks is freshman outside Lauren Witte with 727 attacks. The offensive duo is responsible for 58 percent of DBU's total attacks.
