OC Hosts Eastern New Mexico for Senior Night, No. 13 West Texas Saturday

EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian closes the 2025 regular season at home when Eastern New Mexico comes to the Payne Athletics Center for Senior Night Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. before No. 13 West Texas A&M marks the season finale for the Eagles Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m.

EAGLE OUTLOOK (17-9, 9-6 LSC)
Oklahoma Christian enters the final weekend of the regular season after a 1-1 weekend that featured OC's first victory over DBU in program history, 3-1. True freshman libero Macey Nehring was awarded the conference's Freshman of the Week following her 17-dig, 6-assist performance against the Patriots. Nehring averaged over five digs per set across the Eagles' two matches in the Lone Star State.

Win and get in. That is the situation the Eagles find themselves in Friday night for the LSC Tournament. After Midwestern State's season-finale five-set loss to Lubbock Christian Wednesday, Nov. 12, the maroon-and-gray, with two matches remaining, need just one more win to punch their ticket to the eight-team postseason dance.

Annie Davis, who will be one of OC's seven seniors being recognized Friday for Senior Night, leads the Eagle offense heading into the weekend finale with a team-high 272 kills. After being held below 10 kills in five straight matches, Davis has since posted double-digit kills in three of her last four outings. Fellow senior Sophie Mae Smith has also logged three of her eight double-doubles in the last four contests, where she is averaging 25.3 assists and 12.3 digs per match over that stretch.

Oklahoma Christian comes at Eastern New Mexico and No. 13 West Texas A&M with the fourth-ranked hitting squad in the conference at .230 while being eighth in opponent hitting percentage (.176). This weekend, OC will see both ends of the spectrum with Eastern's 14th-ranked opponent hit rate (.217) and 17th offensive hit rate (.119), while WT boasts the best marks in the conference on both fronts.

Friday will be the sixth all-time meeting between the Eagles and the Greyhounds, with OC riding a three-match win streak in the series. Oklahoma Christian has dropped just one set over that stretch, having won seven consecutive sets over ENMU. Eastern has never won inside the Payne Athletic Center, with its last win over the maroon-and-gray coming in 2022.

Oklahoma Christian has never beaten West Texas A&M, with Saturday being the sixth all-time meeting. The Lady Buffs will be the second AVCA Top-25 team OC has faced this season, with the Eagles defeating then-No. 22 Angelo State at home earlier this year in what was their first win over a top-25 opponent in program history.

SCOUTING EASTERN NEW MEXICO (4-23, 1-14 LSC)
The Greyhounds have been led by first-year head coach Karli Bustos after last year's 5-22 campaign, which was the program's worst record since 2019. In 2025, Eastern New Mexico comes to the Sooner State on a 10-match losing streak. Eastern has played UT Permian Basin to five sets on the road and St. Mary's to four sets at home, however, over that 10-game stretch.

The Greyhound offense goes as junior outside hitter Sophia Valdez takes it, leading the way with 329 kills, which is third in the conference while being fourth with 3.54 kills per set. Behind Valdez is freshman outside Addison Bartlett with 184 winners. Defensively, senior defensive specialist Imahni Brown controls the back line with a league-fifth-most 400 digs.

SCOUTING No. 13 WEST TEXAS A&M (21-5, 13-2 LSC)
After dropping its conference opener on the road at Texas A&M-Kingsville, No. 13 West Texas A&M has since won 13 of its last 14 LSC matches with its only other loss coming on the road at (RV) Angelo State. The Lady Buffs are 15-0 at home this season compared to just 5-3 in true road matches.

West Texas A&M enters the weekend as the only team in the LSC with four players boasting at least 200 kills. The quartet of Currie Marusak (320), Emma Becker (286), two-time LSC Defensive Player of the Year Taytum Stow (234) and 2024 LSC Co-Freshman of the Year Kaycee Cavanaugh (212) has WT leading the league in points per set (17.24) and hitting percentage (.255).
