2024-25 OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN MEN'S BASKETBALL ROSTER
EDMOND, Okla. - On the heels of capturing its winningest season since the 2012-13 campaign, the Oklahoma Christian men's basketball program reloaded with eight newcomers, including six transfers, three of which played at NCAA Division I programs, for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
After losing their top four scorers from last year's squad, head coach
Kendre Talley and his staff highlighted this year's class with former Oklahoma high school standout and Division I DePaul senior transfer
Keyondre Young (Del City HS), former OC Eagle turned Division I North Alabama senior transfer
Marco Foster and DI Lamar junior transfer
Deiman Reyes.
Coming alongside Young, Foster and Reyes is a pair of Lone Star Conference transfers in graduate student
Cameron Bell from West Texas A&M and junior transfer
Jason Clark from Texas A&M-Kingsville, junior transfer
Jayce Daniels from Northern Oklahoma College-Enid and freshmen
Joshua Aiken and
Zane Wasson.
Oklahoma high school basketball enthusiasts may remember Young leading Del City to its first state title since 1980 after scoring 26 points in the 6A Oklahoma state championship game against Edmond Memorial during the 2020-21 season. Following his senior season, the Sooner State product was named the Super 5 Player of the Year by the Oklahoman.
Young played his first year of collegiate basketball at Division I Valparaiso, where he played just eight games before missing the remainder of the season with a wrist/thumb injury. After a one-year stint at Triton Junior College, Young played his junior season at Division I DePaul of the Big East conference, during which he tied his season-high with 10 points in 24 minutes off the bench against No. 7/8 Marquette.
Foster started his college days in Payne Athletic Center, spending his freshman year at Oklahoma Christian where he was named Third Team All-Conference and a member of the LSC's All-Freshman Team. Foster played this most recent season at Division I North Alabama, where averaged 13.5 minutes and 5.1 points per game while shooting 36.2 percent (17-for-47) from three-point range for the Lions.
Reyes, a native of Barranquilla, Colombia, was rated as a three-star prospect according to Rivals coming out of Victory Christian High School in North Carolina and was tabbed as the No. 36 player nationally at his position. During his first year at Division I Lamar, Reyes started 22 of the Cardinals' 27 games, averaging 11.3 minutes per game as a true freshman.
That incoming trio along with the additional five new faces will join returners
Nickolas Traylor,
Javon Grant,
Tyrus Baynham,
Bryce Kennedy,
Miles Gibson,
Carson Thomas and
Steven Holland from last year's best Eagles men's basketball team in the Division II era.
Traylor played in every game for Oklahoma Christian last season, while Baynham and Grant missed just one each. Kennedy saw the most starts of the veterans with 14 as he is the leading scorer on a points-per-game basis among the returners with 6.6 points. Kennedy, Baynham and Traylor each shot 47.7 percent or better from the floor, while Traylor was also third on the team with a 78.8 free-throw percentage, among those whom attempted at least 30 free-throws.
