TYLER, Texas - Despite leading at halftime, 35-31, Oklahoma Christian lost the second half, 45-30, for the eventual defeat at the hands of UT Tyler, 76-65.
Jason Clark led OC in the scoring department with 18 points, 15 of which came in the first half, while
Noah Clark scored a season-high 10 points along with seven rebounds.
Miles Gibson recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Over the last four games, Gibson has averaged 22.8 points and 10.5 rebounds, tallying three double-doubles over that stretch.
N. Clark and Gibson combined for 17 of the maroon-and-gray's 34 rebounds compared to UT Tyler's 43 boards. The Eagles managed just four offensive rebounds while the Patriots grabbed 14 offensive rebounds, leading to UTT to win the second-chance points battle, 14-2.
There were five lead changes in the game's first seven minutes before Oklahoma Christian took a four-point lead into the locker room, 35-31. UT Tyler quickly took the lead early in the second half, using a 13-2 run to seize its largest lead of the game up to that point, 44-37.
With the Patriots hitting 7-of-16 (43.8 percent) three-pointers in the second half, the lead continued to grow till it reached the climax at the 2:53 mark, 76-57. The Eagles closed the game on an 8-0 run to make the score 76-65.
Oklahoma Christian (9-13, 4-12 LSC) will return to the Payne Athletic Center for a Monday night dual against No. 19 St. Edward's at 6 p.m.
