Eagles Show Out at LSC Indoor Championships in Norman

Norman, Okla. - Men's and women's track and field showed out at the 2024 Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships, hosted at the University of Oklahoma.
 
Women's Results - Top Finishes - Records/
  • In the Distance Medley Relay, the team Itzel Flores, Katie Bosley, Hope Fletcher, and Jacinda Kwambai finished 10th with a time of 13:15.99.
  • Freshman Jalyn Ball finished 5th in the high jump with the bar at 1.62 meters.
  • Kayedence Bruner finished 9th in the high jump with the bar at 1.57 meters.
  • Nikkita Addy claimed a 3rd place finish in the weight throw with a long of 15.68m, 
    • Nikkita's throw is the 2nd best weight throw in OC women's track history, 55'1.5" on the conversion.
Men's Results - Top Finishes - Records
  • Ethan Anthony took 4th in the 800 Meters Finals, with a time of 1:53.52, scoring five points for the Eagles.
  • Austin McNair also put points on the board for the Eagles with a 5th-place finish in the mile with a time of 4:14.58.
  • Jess Dunsmore finished in 9th place in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:46.26.
  • The 4x400 team of Sam Fisher, Camden Miller, Collin Whitefield, and Caden Davis took 6th with a time of 3:25.26, scoring three points for OC.
  • OC's DMR team of Dunsmore, Miller, Anthony, and McNair had a big performance, taking 2nd and coming in right behind West Texas A&M, with a time of 10:19.34.
  • Wyatt Theil hit 2.01m in the high jump, which was good for 3rd place and six points, and Torrion Montgomery cleared at 1.89m for 10th place.
  • Montgomery (2nd place, 7.01m), Stacy Smith (5th place, 6.78m), and Thiel (6th place, 6.74) all scored points for Oklahoma Christian in the long jump.
  • Smith also scored points in the triple jump, with a jump of 13.73m.
  • Ty Morrison put three points up for the Eagles in the shot put, with a throw of 13.85m.
  • Kameron Shropshire also earned points for OC, taking 5th place in the weight throw with a throw of 15.49m. Morrison took 10th in the event with a throw of 14.13m.
  • Chaney Martin brought home 4th place in the heptathlon with 5,124 points, scoring five more points for OC.
The Eagles took 4th place overall, with 61 combined points, finishing seven points ahead of UT Tyler.
