GREENWOOD, Ind. - Following the completion of the 2024 volleyball season,
Sophie Mae Smith,
Camryn McGough,
Lauren McClure and
Katy Geurin were named to the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The 2024 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team, which was selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
To be eligible for the CSC All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or have started in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches.
Sophie Mae Smith and
Lauren McClure were responsible for 86 percent of the team's total assists with Smith finishing 17th in the LSC with 5.15 assists per set. McGough was tied for fourth in the conference with 102 total blocks while Geurin finished 23rd in attack percentage (.251).
The quartet helped lead Oklahoma Christian volleyball to its first 20-win season since the program's reinstatement in 2020 and to the Lone Star Conference Tournament Quarterfinals.
