Austin/San Marcos, Texas/Wichita, Kan. - Eagles track and field had participants in three different meets this weekend, with the Texas Relays at the University of Texas, the Bobcat Invitational at Texas State, and the Friends University Spring Invitational at Friends University.
Texas Relays
Bryah Davis continued her strong spring by winning her heat in the 100m with a time of 11.85. The time was good for an NCAA provisional mark, but Davis eclipsed that mark at OBU last week.
Aysha Robinson took 6th in her heat of the 100m with a time of 12.27.
Elizabeth Heffernan finished in the top ten of the 10,000m, taking 9th place with a time of 37:47.84. And
Caroline Karr finished in 11th place with a time of 37:58.51.
Verrell McBride took 3rd in his heat of the 100m with a time of 10.69.
Dylan Burrows took 3rd in the B Final of the 1500m with a time of 3:49.19.
And
Owen Pearce wrapped up the Eagles' time at the Relays with a 5th place finish in the 10,000m with a time of 31:24.24.
Bobcat Invitational
Burrows ran in the 800m in San Marcos and took 4th with an NCAA provisional time of 21.28, currently the 5th fastest time in the nation.
Friends University Spring Invitational
Nikkita Addy had a top-five finish by taking 5th in the Discus with a mark of 36.73m
Ethan Anthony took 4th in the 800m with a time of 1:53.25.
Austin McNair finished in 8th in the 1500m, with a time of 4:00.99.
Chaney Martin placed 10th in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 15:38.
Wyatt Thiel and
Torrion Montgomery each placed in the top ten of the High Jump, with Thiel taking 3rd and Montgomery taking 7th.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH MILLER
We had a good weekend, with several people moving up in the conference rankings and hitting national qualifiers. The next few weeks will be critical to our season, and we are starting to execute better. We are looking forward to competing at Wichita State.
