LUBBOCK, Texas - The Eagles headed to Lubbock, Texas, to round out the cross country season by competing over 6km and 10km at the South Central Regional Championships, which is regarded as the most competitive region in the country.
Women's Race
The Eagles, unfortunately, were only able to get four runners across the line, meaning they needed more athletes to register a team score.
Jacinda Kwambai led the Eagles with a 79th-place finish, running 23:12 over the 6km. Freshman
Itzel Flores was next for the Eagles, finishing in 111th, with a time of 24:16.
Hope Fletcher and
Madison Coskey rounded out the Eagles, finishing in 135th and 143rd, respectively.
Men's Race
Backing up after their 3rd-place finish at the Lone Star Conference championships, the Eagles finished 19th, which concludes their season.
Tegen Arega was the Eagles' lead runner, finishing in 76th, with a time of 32:36 for the 10km distance.
Jess Dunsmore and
Colten Brown were not far behind, finishing in 84th and 90th, respectively, with times of 32:45 and 32:55.
Austin McNair and
Dylan Burrows rounded out the Eagles' top 5, finishing in 121st and 128th, respectively.
The race was Burrows' last race in an Eagles uniform, a multiple conference medalist and indoor track first-team All-American.
