Pittsburg, Kan. - Oklahoma Christian's track and field teams competed at the Rumble in the Jungle hosted by Pittsburg State this past weekend in Pittsburg, Kansas.
In the men's 60 Meter Hurdles,
Chaney Martin took 6th place with a time of 8.41.
Bryah Davis, a junior from Cedar Hill, Texas, followed that up by placing 4th in the 60 Meter Dash with a time of 7.70.
Aysha Robinson also ran in the event finishing in 7th with a time of 7.84.
Davis also took 3rd in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 25.36, and Robinson finished in 8th with a time of 26.17.
In the men's 200 Meter Dash,
Verrell McBride took 4th at a time of 22.07, which is close to the provisional time of 21.69.
Dylan Burrows and Lucas Forman earned points for the Eagles, as Burrows had the highest finish of the day for the Eagles, taking 2nd place (1:15.93), and Forman finished in 8th place (1:17/24) in the Men's 600 Yard run.
Ethan Anthony and
Owen Pearce had a pair of top-10 finishes in the 800 Meter run, finishing in 4th and 7th, respectively.
Burrows and Pearce also did well in the 1 Mile run with Burrows taking 2nd (4:11.74) and 6th 4:18.21).
Elizabeth Hefferan took 3rd in the 3000 Meter run witha time of 10:10.01, and
Caroline Karr finished in 7th with a time of 10:14.38.
And to wrap up the event for Oklahoma Christian,
Jelte van Atten placed 6th in the Men's 3000 Meter run with a time of 8:58.95.

It was good to get the majority of the team through their first meet of the year. We have an idea of what we need to work on as well as what to expect moving forward.
