NEW ORLEANS (June 23, 2022) – Oklahoma Christian multi-sports athlete Chaney Martin earned All-South Central Region honors in the decathlon for 2022 from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The USTFCCCA released its list of All-Region honorees for outdoor track and field this week. To receive an All-Region honor, an athlete must be one of the top five individuals in an event in his region. Only athletes from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.

Martin, a sophomore from West Plains, Mo., ranked fifth in the South Central Region in the decathlon with a score of 6,708 points in the 10-event discipline. He posted that career-best score in the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships in Kingsville, Texas, in early May.

The All-Region award is the first of Martin's collegiate career.
